Message from the Principal
Langley Families,
We completed our first week of testing—a big shout-out to our staff, volunteers, and students. It was a smooth week. Much goes into the planning and execution of these weeks; it is wonderful to see the payoff with our students' excellent performance. We will continue moving forward with the start of AP testing on Monday.
Spring activities and events are ongoing, and excitement is mounting for the class of 2025. It's hard to believe we are less than five weeks away from graduation!
Monday marks the beginning of Teacher Appreciation Week. We are eager to celebrate our instructional staff with various activities all week. I encourage community members to take a moment next week to thank a teacher or teachers who have positively impacted their lives.
Looking forward to a great week!
Mr. Stroud
AP Exam Volunteer Proctors Needed
Over 4,000 AP exams will be administered from May 5-16. In addition to the Student Services team and teachers, who will oversee the exams, parent volunteers are needed to assist in handing out and collecting materials and supervising the test. Test proctoring runs about 4 hours per test, and the exams generally begin at 8 am and 12 pm. For more information and a list of FAQs, click here.
Please consider volunteering for this important event and helping support our Student Services team! There are MANY slots to fill! Please note: you may not proctor a test your student is taking. See what’s available and sign up here.
FCPS Chromebook & Charger for Testing
As testing season approaches, it’s important to bring the required materials to your test! On the day of your SOL or digital AP exam, bring your fully charged FCPS Chromebook and charger. If you do not bring your Chromebook and charger, you may be unable to test. If you do not have an FCPS Chromebook checked out to you, go to the tech office before the day of your exam.
End of the School Year Medication Pick-up
As the end of our school year approaches, I would like to remind you that all medications kept in the Health Room must be picked up by the end of the school year. Per FCPS regulations, any medications that remain in the Health Room after close of business on the last day of school must be destroyed.
For SENIORS: The last day of classes will be May 16th. Seniors who have medications may keep them in the Health Room until after AP testing and graduation activities are complete.
For ALL OTHER STUDENTS: The last day of classes is June 11th.
Prescription Medications (Epi-pens, Inhalers, ADHD, etc.): Must be picked up by a parent. Please sign in at the main office. PLEASE NOTE: if a student self-carries their epi-pen or inhaler and keeps one in the health room, the student may pick it up.
Over-the-counter Medication: Students may pick up these medications and take them home. They may be picked up at the end of the day between 2:45-3:00pm any time before the end of the year.
All medications must be picked up by 10 am, June 11th.
Please contact School Health Aide, Andrea Cabral, with any questions. aleaosantosv@fcps.edu

Student Attendance Reporting
-
All Day Absences: The Attendance feature in ParentVUE is the FCPS secure web solution for reporting all day absences.
Partial Absence: To report late arrivals, early dismissals, or to update already submitted attendance, please email LangleyHSAttendance@fcps.edu.
How to Report an Absence Through ParentVUE
Please send a note with the student, instructing them to take it directly to the attendance office. They will receive a pass to be excused from class at the time you’ve indicated. It is the student's responsibility to leave class promptly at the stated time.
If your student does not have a note, you may sign in and go to the attendance office to check them out in person. Please understand that it may take up to 30 minutes for the check-out process if it is unexpected.
Please note we are unable to accommodate last-minute early releases after 2:30 p.m.
Tutors Provides On-Demand Support at No Cost
