The Indian economy's rise from 10th to 5th globally is largely due to the contributions of PSUs. Their efforts have propelled India to 40th in the Global Innovation Index, up from 81 in 2014, surpassing many comparable economies.

The Indian government has empowered rural citizens by providing essential amenities like cold storage for crop preservation and digital connectivity for e-commerce, significantly enhancing their livelihoods and opportunities.

Our Hon’ble PM envisions India to utilise the spirit of Amrit Kaal and transform into a developed nation by 2047. I am convinced that any society can develop or become truly “Viksit” only on a strong foundation of education and knowledge. The 6th National PSU Residential Summit discussed strategies for digitising processes, building a digital-ready workforce, energy security, global competitiveness, and other related issues, and generated knowledge on the evolution of work.

PSUs were created with a different social objective, but in the last 10 years, there has been a total transformation of PSU their activities.
Most of them have gotten into the market economy and are making a huge tactical contribution to the economy of the country, particularly in growth.

Kerala alone has over 100 PSUs. The Government of Kerala has been actively supporting PSUs through multiple initiatives like grants. There are multiple challenges for industrial growth in Kerala, including power security, land availability, need to maintain the ecological balance and trying to preserve nature, and more. We are not yet at a carbon-neutral level, but we are taking measures in that direction.
