Rhode Island Kids Count is holding its annual breakfast at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick to unveil the latest edition of its factbook about children and families across the state.
For good reason, the focus of today’s breakfast will be on uncertainty coming out of Washington, D.C., and officials at Kids Count are expected to highlight concerns about potential cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, health insurance, and Head Start.
But it’s also worth it to take a closer look at some of the most important statistics for children and families on the economy, health and wellness, and education.
Here are seven charts to help frame the discussion.
