Dear Belle View Families,
The Virginia Standards of Learning Tests (SOL's) for students in grades 3-6 start this week. Teachers and students have been preparing for these exams all year, utilizing test taking skills, technology enhanced practice questions, and application of skills in all subject area. We are ready!
This week, we will be appreciating our school staff for all of their tireless work and dedication to the academic progress and wellbeing of all our students--feel free to send in a note of appreciation or a little treat!
May is very busy around here, so please look at the calendar reminders below.
Thank you all for your continued partnership! We have had a wonderful school year here at Belle View.
Proud Principal, Katie Pluntke

Excellence at a Crossroads: FCPS Budget Update: The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will begin finalizing the budget on Tuesday, May 6. The current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million.
Without new revenue, such as the meals tax (adding just $2-3 to an average dining bill for a family of four), FCPS will face significant cuts.
What Is at Risk?
Go to fcps.edu/crossroads to see examples of where FCPS exceeds minimum state standards.
6th Grade Families: ParentVUE is essential in Middle School!
Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you support your child’s academic success. Caregivers can view important information in ParentVUE such as attendance, grades, progress reports and test scores. Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates from high school. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices. Please take a few moments to log into your ParentVUE account today! If you have any questions about accessing or navigating your account please contact Amy Garcia, Family Liaison, ajgarcia@fcps.edu or call/text 571-501-8170.
