Carol Neave and Thomas Brandstetter knew it is Tom Power who will host the East Coast Music Awards later this month.
“Don't listen to it as much as I once did,” Thomas writes us, referring to CBC Radio's Q. “I do enjoy watching highlights of interviews with artists I like online.”
Carol agrees.
“I do love CBC Radio,” she says.
And to think how close we were to losing it – at least in its current incarnation.
TODAY'S TRIVIA
As I’m writing, Guns N' Roses is on the turntable. Not my usual fare, but the 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, is a masterpiece. And a favourite tune from this release is Rocket Queen. Some folks may find it offensive. I don’t. The song merely speaks to the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle we know now even Elvis enjoyed. A lot.
I am particularly fond of the tempo switch halfway through, a feature I really like on other tunes, too. Think Band on the Run, Aquarius / Let the Sunshine ...
I’m especially in love with the vocals. Who is Guns N' Roses's lead vocalist?
