US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the administration is reworking agreements with semiconductor companies that received money or are slated to receive funds from the 2022 Chips Act to expand domestic manufacturing. The secretary told a Senate committee that the US wants to secure better terms in the deals to spur additional investment from the companies. The bipartisan law set aside $52 billion to revitalize the American semiconductor industry.
