Monday, highs are nearing 90s away from the coast and low to mid 80s at the coast with humidity gradually creeping up throughout the day. While it will feel summerlike, humidity continues to build into Tuesday, the stickiest day of the bunch.

Tuesday brings the heat and humidity in full force, with highs in the 90s and dewpoints rising into the 70s.

Most of the remaining hotel shelters in Massachusetts expected to close Monday

Emergency shelters in Massachusetts hotels for migrants have been a point of contention for years, and now, almost all of them will be shutting down.

The Boston Globe reported that most of the 28 hotel shelters still open are expected to close on Monday, with just four remaining open for now.

Concerns have ranged from safety to financial, but the shelters have been really the only landing place for new arrivals seeking to build a better life in Massachusetts.

Suspected gunman found dead after killing 2 firefighters in Idaho sniper ambush

A man armed with a rifle started a wildfire Sunday and then began shooting at first responders in a northern Idaho mountain community, killing two firefighters and wounding a third during a barrage of gunfire over several hours, authorities said.

A shelter-in-place order was lifted Sunday night after a tactical response team used cell phone data to “hone in” on a wooded area where they found the suspect’s body with a firearm nearby as flames rapidly approached, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said.

Officials did not release his name, nor did they say what kind of gun was found.

Canada to resume trade talks with U.S. after rescinding digital services tax

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said late Sunday trade talks with U.S. have resumed after Canada rescinded its plan to tax U.S. technology firms.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he was suspending trade talks with Canada over its plans to continue with its tax on technology firms, which he called “a direct and blatant attack on our country.”

The Canadian government said “in anticipation” of a trade deal “Canada would rescind” the Digital Serves Tax. The tax was set to go into effect Monday.

‘A dream come true': Gloucester man wins annual greasy pole competition

A 20-year-old man from Gloucester, Massachusetts, made his lifelong dream come true on Sunday — conquering the greasy pole, even after a recent hospital stay.

Greasy pole walker Nick White was carried out of Gloucester Harbor a champion.

“I feel absolutely awesome right now. This is a dream come true,” White said. “I’ve been dreaming of this since I was a little kid.”
