On June 6-7, Nanlite and Nanlux convened in a corner of Universal Studios’ Stage 30 where they hosted all their products and several esteemed cinematographers. Cinegear Expo LA is the premier entertainment technology show where creatives, technicians and business professionals come together to share ideas and create lasting collaborations. |

Situated on Main Street on the backlot of Universal Studios, the show draws thousands of students, filmmakers, industry veterans and technology enthusiasts. |

Over the course of the weekend, Nanlite and Nanlux hosted several panels, including Dean Cundey, ASC, talking with DP Ferguson Sauve-Rogan about “Back to the Future” celebrating its 40th anniversary. |
Shane Hurlbut, ASC explored how to master night scenes using LED lighting in his session titled “LED Powered Night Cinematography: De-Mystifying the Process”. |

Cinegear provided a theatre space and also presented Cundey in a “Back to the Backlot” discussion, while Brooks discussed her work on “Wicked” in a Q&A. Cinegear’s Friday night celebration honored George Mooradian, ASC with the Karl Kresser Heart of the Community Award, Alice Brooks with the Visionary Award, and Dean Cundey with the California Dreaming Award. |
Nanlux Attends Maccam Mixer |
On June 6, following the first day of Cinegear, Maccam, the family-run lighting rental company started by Michael McDonald, hosted a mixer called “A Hollywood Night to Remember” at the Aster Hotel in Hollywood. |

Sponsored by three vendors including Nanlux, the event gathered a host of high-end gaffers and DPs who are customers of Maccam, as well as invited guest from Gaffers Salon and International Cinema Lighting Society. Along with amazing food and drinks, the night included a DJ and dancers wrapped in LED lights added to the ambience. |

ASC Hosts Annual Barbecue |
On June 7th, following the close of Cinegear, the American Society of Cinematographers held their annual barbecue for members and sponsors at the storied ASC Clubhouse in Hollywood. |
As a key sponsor, Nanlux had several attendees at the dinner which was an outdoor affair on a beautiful evening. |

Prior to the start of dinner, Tanya Leon from Sony offered gifts to the outgoing president Shelly Johnson, ASC, who handed the baton to the newly elected president, Mandy Walker, ASC. Walker is the first female president of the ASC since its founding in 1919. |

Nanlite & Nanlux Exhibit at BILD |
From June 17-18 at the Javits Center in New York City, Nanlite & Nanlux were once again an exhibitor at the BILD Expo presented by B&H Photo. The first event was held in 2023, marking the company’s 50th anniversary. Having been such a success, B&H Photo decided to hold it again after a year hiatus. |

“Bild,” the Yiddish word for “picture,” pays tribute to the enduring power of photographs. It is a tribute to creators, and is considered the largest NY gathering of photographers, content creators and filmmakers. The show had a full schedule track of panels, together with break out tracks for photography, content creation and filmmaking. |

This year’s show had over 100 speakers across two days, and more than 250 exhibitors were part of the show, exhibiting the latest equipment and technologies. |

Participants were able to extend their practical experience with portfolio reviews and photo walks around New York City. Nanlite displayed the FC, FS, PavoSlim, PavoTube and Alien Series while Nanlux showed off the Evoke 900C, Evoke 2400B and the newly introduced Evoke 5000B. |
Goecker Expo Held in Denmark |
The two-day Goecker Expo was held in Copenhagen May 21-22 at Pressern, Politikens Hus. Goecker is a Nanlite/Nanlux dealer under the distributor Focus Nordic. Geared towards B2B end-users and high-end photo and video enthusiasts, the focus was on professional photography and videography discussing the latest equipment and trends. |

Exhibiting at Broadcast Asia |
Broadcast Asia, part of the region’s flagship tech festival Asia Tech x Singapore, was held from may 27-29 at the Singapore Expo in Singapore. |
