Uncensored Conversations on Widowhood

While researching for her book Finding Love After Loss: A Relationship Roadmap for Widows, author Mary Dempsey interviewed widows and widowers across the country. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this platform is designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and resources to enhance your well-being and uplift your spirit daily. Join us for a special sneak peek this week! No need to sign up, just come out and try Qigong with 55+ friends. Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing art involving meditation, controlled breathing and slow movement exercises.


55+ Pass Fees Increased on July 1, 2025

Starting on July 1, 2025, the prices for all 55+ Passes increased for all Arlington County and out-of-county participants. See the chart below for updated fees, and click here for more information.

Fees have also increased for drop-in fitness classes at Lubber Run: Full Fitness Exercise, Strength Training, and Total Body Fitness. Prices are now $75 for a 15-session digital punch pass or $5 for a single drop-in class. Digital punch passes can be purchased at the front desk at Lubber Run. Click here for more information.


Leadership Luncheon

Sign up for the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics!

Online registration for the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) opens on July 7! The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) will be held from Saturday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 30. There are over 70 events, including pickleball, cycling, scrabble, track and field, bowling, line dancing, crossword puzzles, and more. The registration fee is only $20, which covers an unlimited number of events.

Farmers Market

Farmers Market Discounts for Older Adults

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides coupons for older adults who meet financial eligibility to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables at participating Arlington farmers markets. Who is eligible:

  • Arlington residents
  • Individuals 60 years of age and older
  • The 2025 income guidelines permit monthly income up to:
    • $2,413 - 1 person ($50 coupon)
    • $3,261 - 2 people ($100 coupon)

Become a Virginia Cooperative Extension Volunteer!

Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) volunteers work to educate and engage the public on a variety of important topics. VCE offers several master volunteer programs that provide training opportunities in gardening and horticulture; food, nutrition, and safety; natural resources management; water supply systems; financial management; and energy conservation.

Computer Instructors Needed

The Alliance for Arlington Senior Programs offers free classes and the use of a laptop computer to all qualified Arlington seniors who want to learn how to use a computer and
