For Roman Anthony, the All-Star break represents an opportunity to rest, unplug, and process his arrival in the big leagues. He hopes not to become accustomed to the respite.
In 2024, Anthony elevated his national prospect status with a dazzling display of power at Globe Life Field to win the inaugural All-Star Futures Game Skills Showcase. The competition against top minor leaguers created hunger for similar big league stages.
“That experience was motivating as a prospect,” Anthony reflected. “You see all the guys there, and that’s the goal.
“Every year I want to be there as a big leaguer. Hopefully, my next All-Star breaks in my career, I won’t have to worry about where I’m going or what I’m doing or who I’m hanging out with. Hopefully it’ll be with a bunch of All-Stars.”
