It's been a busy week which has included big news on the offshore wind energy front. The only company behind a proposal for the Illawarra, BlueFloat Energy, has confirmed it's pulling out of all of its Australian operations. This leaves a great deal of uncertainty around the Illawarra proposal and indicates it could be sunk for the time being. Other proposals for the Hunter and Gippsland also appear to be facing stormy seas ahead. It will take time to determine what the flow-on effects might be and what — if anything — the federal government plans to do in response.
If you like fashion and old Hollywood movies (or both) you surely can't resist a look at our intriguing story about Oscar-winning costume designer Orry-Kelly, who mixed it with the biggest stars of yesteryear. Unbeknownst to many he was born in Kiama. Back in his home town, his life was recently celebrated with a gala event full of gowns and glamour. It's a window into a very special moment in time.
I hope you are managing to stay warm in the chilly weather.
