The director who brought us horror films Hereditary and Midsommar is back with his latest offering, Eddington, a pandemic satire starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal. While Ari Aster's film isn’t terrifying in the same way as the others, Eddington delivers a searing snapshot of what happens when a society tears itself apart. Writes critic Barry Hertz: “It is the cinematic equivalent of long COVID – lingering, haunting, and demanding rigorous, skeptical investigation.” Read more.
