Having successfully managed a week of moving house with my daughter and then the almost-final proofread of my book this week (just one quick final proofread in a couple of weeks and then it’s off to the printer; pre-order it here from bookshop.org, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, or wherever you get your books!), I’m spending this coming week at the beach with my family and looking forward to kicking back and relaxing. When you read the newsletter next week, imagine me slathered in a high SPF lotion, sitting by the water. If it’s a beach week, it’s a book week, and I’ve got a too-big stack ready to go. That got me thinking that it’s high time for us to start a book club here. I want your suggestions for the first pick: a book we can read together, discuss, and do a conversation with the author or other person with thoughts about the book at the end. If you’ll share your ideas, I’ll pick a book for us to read over the weekend, and we can all get started! Should it be serious? Light-hearted? An old classic we re-read together? I can’t wait for your suggestions—and a little sun. We’re in this together, Joyce You're currently a free subscriber to Civil Discourse with Joyce Vance .
