Chantilly Pyramid Magic School Bus Annual Event - Wish List Help Needed!

Every August, staff members from the Chantilly Pyramid schools visit communities in our boundary to meet families, welcome students, and distribute school supplies to students in need.  Each year, we see an increase in students who need assistance, and we are hoping that our caring Charger community will help us again this year by donating the most-requested school supplies.  We are in need of the following:

  1. Backpacks
  2. Crayons
  3. Colored Pencils
  4. Non-perishable snacks such as fruit snacks, granola bars, juice boxes and snack size boxes of crackers, chips, and cereal
  5. Pencils
  6. Composition Books
  7. Pencil Pouches
  8. College Ruled Notebooks
  9. Black and Blue Pens
  10. College and Wide-Ruled Notebook Paper

Any size donation is appreciated and will go directly to a student in the Chantilly pyramid. You may order directly through our Amazon Wish List or drop off supplies to Chantilly HS main office Monday-Friday from 9-1 PM through August 1, 2025.  We will also take gently used Chantilly spirit wear if you or your Charger are ready to retire some CHS gear.  If you would like to watch The CHS Knightly News segment about the Magic School Bus, please use this link to view.

Thanks for your ongoing support- we love our Charger Community and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school on August 18, 2025. Until then, please have a relaxing and enjoyable summer!

25-26 Chantilly HS Student Parking Application

**Chantilly STUDENTS must access the application and complete using their fcpsschools.net account.**

The Chantilly High School Student Parking application form is now OPEN!  Any student that is interested in parking on campus during the 2025-2026 school year must complete the entire CHS Parking Application. There are approximately 400 student parking spaces and all parking spots will be assigned by lottery. There is a high demand for student parking and over 100 students did not receive spots last year.

Priority will be assigned to Rising Seniors (Class of 2026). After Senior spots are assigned, any remaining spots will be assigned to Rising Juniors (Class of 2027).  Rising Sophomores (Class of 2028), regardless of age, will not be allocated a parking spot until all Seniors and Juniors have been assigned a spot.

There are five options for student parking:

Basketball Lot (Seniors Only) Stringfellow Lot (Seniors Only) Band Lot (Aug-Nov: Must move car out of lot by 3:30pm) West Lot (Across the street next to Chantilly Little League Fields) Library Lot (Across the street at the back of Chantilly Library)

Important Dates:

Monday, July 28th  - Application Deadline for Non-Senior Lot and Juniors @ 11:59pm

First Week of August - 2nd Round of Parking Acceptance Emails Sent Monday, August 11th - All Parking Fees DUE on MySchoolBucks

Thursday, August 14th - Parking Pass Pick-Up at Chargin In Open House (4-6pm)

Please note that all of these dates/times are strict deadlines. Please plan your summer accordingly to ensure that you do not miss out on an opportunity to get a parking spot for the 2025-2026 school year! Any student that is assigned a parking spot will be required to pay a $200 parking permit fee by strict deadlines.  Any spots that are not paid for by the deadline will have their spot given to another student.

Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) Updates for 2025-26 School Year

At their May 8 meeting, the Fairfax County School Board approved changes to the SR&R, including its cell phone policy. Other SR&R updates include added clarity and/or procedures around topics such as discipline data, parent notifications, hate speech, and integrated discipline training. The full list of changes is available on Boarddocs.

Cell Phone Policy Update for High Schools

Beginning in August, high school students can only use their cell phones and other personal devices (AirPods, smart watches, etc.) during lunch and before or after school. This is a change from FCPS’ current cell phone policy, which allows high schoolers to use devices during passing periods. Next school year, students must keep devices off and away during classroom time and during passing periods between classes.

Spring 2025 SOL Score Reporting

We want to thank our students and families for their flexibility and support during our Spring 2025 SOL testing.  We are still working with students on makeup testing and/or retakes; we are grateful that we were able to successfully administer 2100+ SOL’s in May alone.  Formal SOL score reports will begin posting to SIS ParentVUE Documents as we approach the end of the school year.

  • Grade 12 students - Daily beginning Tuesday, May 20
  • Grade 9-11 students - Daily beginning Wednesday, May 28

As a reminder, families and students also have access to SOL preliminary scores in SIS ParentVUE and StudentVUE with updates 1-2 times weekly.

If you have any questions about your student’s SOL scores, please contact Jillian Domenech, CHS Assessment Coach, jcdomenech@fcps.edu

Downloading Student Google Drive

If your student is preparing to graduate or leave FCPS for any reason, it’s important to know that their Google Workspace account will be automatically deactivated once they are no longer actively enrolled in FCPS. This process happens during the summer, shortly after the end of the school year. Once a student account is deactivated, there will  will no longer be access to FCPS Google Drive or access to FCPS Gmail.

If any student will no longer be an FCPS student after this school year, they must  download or export any files they wish to keep before the end of the school year. The download process of files can take several days, so please make sure to check in with your students.  They should be starting that process now.

Students will have the option to use Google Takeout to export their files. Visit Google’s directions here: How to download your Google data using Takeout. It’s important to know that you will only be able to export files for which you are the owner.

If students would prefer to manually select files from your Drive to download, follow the Downloading Your Data instructions on the Google Workspace Information for Students and Parents page of the FCPS website.

Support Your Child’s Success by Checking SIS ParentVUE

Access your student’s attendance records, grades, and assignments at any time with SIS ParentVUE. Parents/caregivers should receive an activation code when they register their child. Contact your subschool if you need a code.

Once you have activated a SIS ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same SIS ParentVUE account. You may also access SIS ParentVUE using an app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Need help creating an account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.
