Greysteel, a gym outside Detroit that was founded by an emergency room doctor, teaches barbell lifting to older people, some of whom are well into their 80s and 90s.

Jeanette Battista performs a weighted squat while training at a gym geared to seniors. Another woman stands nearby and spots an elderly man while he attempts a bench press.

Some members credit it with saving their lives.
