Kicking Off Day 1 Of Our AI Life Hacks Series

Forbes
AI tools are everywhere these days.

In seemingly no time at all, ChatGPT went from a buzzy tech trend to an expansive tool with around 400 million monthly users and
integration into Apple’s iPhone. And major tech companies like Microsoft and Google have positioned artificial intelligence as an integral piece to their plans for the future.

Such rapid growth
can feel a bit overwhelming for the average person. In the (slightly edited) words of Ferris Bueller: AI moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and try to learn a thing or two, you could miss it.

Luckily, we’re bringing you a wealth of resources to help
better understand the fast-expanding world of AI technology. In this course, we’ll focus on the ins and outs of prompt engineering for chatbots like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and others. If you haven’t used a chatbot yet or have dabbled with prompt writing but felt overwhelmed, this is the series for you.

Here’s a little preview of what we’ll be covering over the next few days:
Finding the right chatbot
Before we jump into how to write a quality prompt and get the most out of our AI companions, we’ll begin by taking a step back to look at what chatbots are out there and how they differ from one another. This will be a quick crash course on how the likes of ChatGPT and others came to be, and will set the groundwork to help you figure out which chatbot will work best for you.
Using AI for daily tasks
Here’s where things get a little more hands-on. We’ll offer up advice on how to use AI to help cross items off your to-do list—from maximizing your productivity by creating a daily schedule to planning the perfect vacation catered specifically to your interests. This will include sample prompts that you can copy and paste directly into a chatbot and edit as needed to get the best possible output.
Work smarter with a chatbot
We’ve all heard the concerns about AI eliminating jobs. But instead of stressing out about whether your job will be cut, take the time now to learn how AI and chatbots can help you quickly knock out busywork and free up more time to focus on the tasks that really matter. We’ll cover how AI can help you quickly draft an email, brainstorm ideas for your next big project and even improve your résumé so you can land your dream job.
The world of AI-generated images
Do you think you can tell the difference between an AI-generated image and the real thing? Put your detective skills to the test in this edition, as we present a quiz of sorts, along with some tips and tell-tale signs for identifying when a photo was created by an AI generator.
Our goal over the next few days is to provide a roadmap that guides you toward responsible use of AI. There are plenty of barriers to entry for new users, including concerns about hallucinations and ethical boundaries.

In this series, we’ll give a basic explainer about such concerns, including what to look out for when the chatbot is responding to your prompt. Most importantly, we want to have fun. AI can sometimes seem like an intimidating topic due to the endless barrage of headlines and new companies entering the fray, but
we’ll keep things as light as possible in this space. And after you’re done with this introductory course, we’ll talk about the additional resources that Forbes offers in the world of artificial intelligence.

We’ll see you in your inbox tomorrow. Get ready to dive in.
