Some people have a talent for standing out from the crowd and being different. It makes them memorable, which opens so many doors. I embraced being different! I was a tall, skinny, ginger-haired dyslexic teenager who loved playing with model airplanes. I couldn’t be further from being normal. Looking back, it gave me a massive advantage because it separated me from everyone else.. So, reject the idea of being boring and vanilla. Here’s 3 ways you can stand out from everyone else:
Your reputation is one of the few things that lives on after you die. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of attending many funerals in my time, and the person is always remembered for their character. They’re never remembered for their achievements. Think carefully about what you want to be remembered for, then work towards it by making the decisions in your day-to-day life that will help you become that person. 2. Don’t be the best, be the only You can do this by learning seemingly unrelated skills and combining them together. Steve Jobs is well known for mixing his love for calligraphy and design, with technology and creating Apple as we know it today. He was the only person doing that at the time. You have such a great edge with your unique experiences, talents and interests. When you combine all these things to become the only, it makes you completely irreplaceable. AI will never be able to take your job if you’re one of a kind! 3. Present yourself in the way you wish to be perceived It’s important to think about how you want to come across to others and then make a conscious effort to present yourself in that way. This includes how you dress, how you speak, what you post on social media and even how you carry yourself. Think of it like building your own video game character from the ground up. All you need to do is ask yourself, would this help me level up my character? If the answer isn’t yes, think twice about doing it. So, commit to doing at least one of these things and I assure you, you’ll stand out from the crowd and reap the rewards. zxcv, which one are you going to try first?
