Teen Ambassadors Needed
Want to make an impact in your community? The Department of Human Services is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate students in Arlington high schools to be Teen Ambassadors and help develop the Arlington’s Child & Youth Well-Being Plan.
This is your chance to be heard, represent your generation, and work directly with local leaders to build a stronger, more inclusive Arlington for all children and youth. Ambassadors will represent a various races, cultures, genders, and backgrounds to ensure the plan is inclusive, equitable, and truly reflects our community. Questions? Last Summer Teen Night: Foam Fest
End the summer with a Foam Fest Party on Sat., August 23 from 7-10 p.m. at Arlington Mill Community Center. The event is free and open to all middle and high school students. Register for the event here. Other activities include games, crafts, music and more.

Teen After School Programs
The first day of The Rec, Arlington County's teen after school programs for middle & high school students, will be Tues., September 2.
- Thomas Jefferson Community Center: M-F, 2-6 p.m.
- Gunston Community Center: M-F, 2-6 p.m.
- Arlington Mill Community Center: M-F, 2-7 p.m.
- Kenmore Middle School: M/W/F, 2-6 p.m.
- Walter Reed Community Center: Tu/Th, 2-6 p.m.

Walter Reed Tuesday/Thursday Program
Along with our other after school programs, Walter Reed Tuesday/Thursday program will focus on skill building in specific areas each day:

Tuesdays focusing on creative exploration: art specialty visits with our community arts team, intricate art projects, and cooking classes

Thursdays focusing on college & career exploration: career exploration and college readiness activities such as resume writing, mock interviews, volunteer opportunities, monthly art portfolio prep sessions, and more!
