Finnish President Alexander Stubb has proved pivotal in the efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, taking on new importance after he bonded with President Donald Trump over their mutual love of golf.

Stubb, whose country joined NATO in 2023 in response to the war, told NBC News that U.S. and European leaders have agreed that providing Ukraine with security guarantees is a top priority.
