The ongoing regulatory revisions to California’s EPR for packaging law have drawn plenty of stakeholder attention lately. That interest is expected to increase as CalRecycle gets ready to open a public comment period on the draft regulations by the end of the month.
Lawmakers and environmental groups held a press conference on Tuesday to call for changes that preserve what they say is the original intent of the EPR law: holding producers accountable for packaging pollution.

CalRecycle is expected to open the 45-day public comment period on SB 54 rulemaking soon. Stakeholders say some draft revisions undermine the law's ability to hold producers responsible for litter.
