Do you have an awkward hygiene question or situation you’re not sure how to handle? Every month, Toronto hygiene expert Madame Sweat, aka Mary Futher, shares practical advice on tackling sensitive body issues — helping to resolve them gracefully, without embarrassment or offence. Submit your questions to ask@thekit.ca.
Dear Madame Sweat,
Every summer, like clockwork, my inner thighs start chafing. I love wearing sundresses and skirts, but by midday, the top of my legs feel like they’re on fire. It’s sore, sweaty and honestly kind of ruins the whole carefree summer vibe. I’ve tried using my deodorant there, but it’s not helping much. I feel uncomfortable talking about this because I’ve heard people call it chub rub, and I’m a little embarrassed. How do I survive this season without walking like I’ve just ridden a horse? —Chafe Whisperer
