Design software company Canva was valued at $42 billion in an employee stock sale, a jump of more than 30% since its $32 billion valuation a year ago. The company, based in Australia, competes with Adobe and Figma, which is now valued at $36 billion after going public last month.

The first member of the cybercrime gang known as Scattered Spider was sentenced to prison in connection with the group’s attacks, Margi Murphy reports in this week’s Cyber Bulletin. Noah Urban, 20, was sentenced to 10 years after he pleaded guilty to wire fraud and other crimes relating to 29 cryptocurrency victims and 13 companies, she writes.
