The manager of Schwartz’s Deli gets plenty of requests, but lately, they've been particularly special.
In late August, Frank Silva was invited to represent Quebec and Canada at a food festival in Lajatico, Italy.
And while he was there, the son of the late Ken Dryden contacted Schwartz’s and asked if they could supply smoked meat sandwiches for his funeral.
“We haven’t changed much in nearly 100 years,” Silva told The Gazette's Bill Brownstein. “We break all the rules. And yet it still works – go figure.”
