There will be a number of events held in Boston, Massachusetts, and throughout the state on Thursday to mark 24 years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, as the impact of that unimaginable tragedy continues to be felt decades later.

There were 206 people with local ties who died in the 9/11 attacks, including firefighters from Massachusetts.

Reaction in Mass., New England to killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk

Politicians in Massachusetts and New England condemned the fatal shooting of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk at an event in Utah on Wednesday.

Kirk was killed in the middle of an event at Utah Valley University in Orem. Authorities had a person of interest in custody, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said at a news conference, but didn’t share details so early in the investigation.

Bates said he waited at the door of an address on Southern Artery on Sunday around 11 p.m., not knowing a few criminals were lying in wait across the street.

As some Boxford residents struggle without water, governor declares emergency

With a Massachusetts neighborhood going over 24 hours without running water, Gov. Maura Healey declared a water emergency and fire trucks have been filling jugs with potable water.

The issue with the Andrews Farm Water Company, which is private and serves only a 50+ home community in Boxford, brought out state representatives on Wednesday night.

“Because of the history of this neighborhood and the water outages, we are formally requesting that [the Department of Public Utilities] take emergency actions, including taking over operation of the facility,” state Sen. Bruce Tarra said.

Here's what's at stake for Red Sox in weekend series with Yankees

After unexpectedly losing the opening two games of their series in Arizona over the weekend, the Red Sox were in some trouble on Sunday.

Facing a 3-1 deficit through six innings, the Red Sox were facing the very real possibility of getting swept by a sub-.500 Diamondbacks team, a setback that could have suddenly put the team in peril of potentially flirting with the possibility of missing the playoffs.

Yet with a three-run seventh inning and a three-run ninth, the Red Sox salvaged a win in that series finale before winning their first two games in West Sacramento against the A’s. The Red Sox came up short of sweeping the A’s — with Aroldis Chapman’s historic streak of dominance ending — but finished the road trip at 3-3.
