Charlie Kirk had turned his zest for provoking America’s left into a powerful role as
conservatism’s unofficial envoy to the young,
especially on campus. Doing what he loved—debating with liberals at a university—he was murdered on Wednesday, in the latest incident in a country awash in weapons and partisan hatred. The killer is unknown and remains at large.
Elsewhere, Israel had long promised to pursue the perpetrators of October 7th 2023 “wherever they are”. But until this week that had not included Qatar, where Israel on Tuesday struck a villa hoping to kill Hamas leaders. The damage could extend to the gradually warming relations between
