In a busy news week, one HR update that likely got lost in the shuffle is SHRM bringing Robby Starbuck, a conservative influencer who has taken credit for myriad corporate DEI decommitments, to a conference focused on compliance and inclusion.

Following some backlash to SHRM’s decision on social media, I spoke to some DEI advocates who didn’t hold back about their feelings. SHRM’s president, Johnny C. Taylor, also had something to say in response.
