Hi friends! It's been a few weeks since I've gotten to chime in on The Adventurist. I went on a trip to Tanzania where I was able to squeeze in a day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro to the Shira Plateau. I'll definitely have to return one day to attempt the summit, but it was so cool to meet other Coloradans while I was there. Where's the coolest place you've hiked outside the U.S.? Let me know! Heads upTemperatures in Denver will hover in the low 80s throughout the weekend, with afternoon thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday. Check the mountain forecasts
before you head out because we're starting to see snow in the high country.

Arapahoe Basin received top-to-bottom snowfall overnight and the snowmaking crew has moved snow guns into position, standing by for temperatures cold enough to make snow. That usually arrives in October. (Lucas Herbert/Provided by Arapahoe Basin)

As the number of people in Colorado’s wilderness grows, so does the number of pets who accompany their owners onto trails. The result is that search-and-rescue operations around the state have seen a spike in dog rescues from 14,000-foot peaks and other trails this year.
