Good Afternoon Flint Hill Families,
It is going to be a busy week at FHES next week as there are several exciting events taking place for students.
Next week is World Space Week and FHES has serval activities for students taking place. In addition to a spirit week and classroom conversation topics, students will guest speakers including scientists, members of the Space Force, NASA and NOAA. Students will also build baking soda rockets with their classes and launch them throughout the day on Thursday. Get ready for blast off!
We have a few more reminders. Don't forget that picture day is on Monday, October 6th. Bike/Walk/Roll to School day is Wednesday, October 8th and the AAP information meeting for parents will be held on Thursday, October 9th at 2:30 pm in the library.

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to challenging all students through talent development efforts and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of advanced learners. FCPS offers a continuum of advanced academic services for all students in Grades K-12. The continuum of services approach recognizes unique student needs and focuses on matching services, not labeling students.
Through the continuum, students have:
- Multiple entry points for deeper learning opportunities in specific areas of need as they develop.
- A cluster group of students with similar academic needs to continue growing in their learning.
Teachers, Advanced Academic Resource Teachers (AARTs), and school administrators work together to provide services at the elementary level.

Fall screening is available for students who are new to FCPS since January. The fall screening referral window is from the first day of school - October 15, 2025.

Spring screening is available for any Grade 2-7 FCPS-enrolled student. The spring screening referral window is from the first day of school - December 15, 2025.

Flint Hill Elementary has partnered with Charleston Wrap to support our school this October!
In October, orders placed with Charleston Wrap will benefit FHES. Proceeds from sales will fund student activities, programs and materials that improve the student experience for all students at FHES. FHES will receive 40% of the sales collected.
This is a great opportunity to buy holiday, birthday and celebration wrapping paper and other items to support our school.
