A federal judge in Chicago issued a temporary restraining order blocking the deployment of National Guard troops in Illinois, finding the directive violates the Constitution.

U.S. District Judge April Perry said the deployment was based on "unreliable evidence" of crime in the city cited by the Department of Homeland Security and would "only add fuel to the fire that the defendants themselves have started."
