Nor'easter heads our way. Here's latest on coastal storm set to impact southern New England

Mother Nature is taking us on a weather roller coaster ride this weekend as a nor’easter tracks up the coast. While we’re not expecting snow with this coastal storm, it will bring us heavy rain, gusty winds, and minor flooding to the Commonwealth.

Boaters and coastal homeowners prepare for nor'easter

Many are taking precautions before a nor’easter moves into New England.

Boaters were pulling boats out of the water Friday in Marshfield, Massachusetts.

Steve Mellen of Duxbury was navigating an early end of the year for his 42-foot boat, “Water Mellen.”

What Brian Walshe said in court as his murder trial was delayed

In court this week, accused killer Brian Walshe can be heard asking the judge overseeing his murder trial to repeat a couple of questions.

Those responses may have been important, because the judge ultimately determined he needed further evaluation by doctors at Bridgewater State Hospital, pushing back the start date of his trial.

“Mr. Walshe, I want to ask you a few questions. Do you understand that is why we’re here today?” asked Judge Diane Freniere.

Acting Haverhill police chief placed on leave 1 day after chief's resignation

The acting police chief in Haverhill, Massachusetts, has been placed on administrative leave, the mayor said Friday, shortly after he stepped in for now-former Police Chief Robert Pistone.

The Haverhill Police Department has been in turmoil — the Haverhill Police Patrolman’s Association on Thursday announced that union membership voted no confidence in the leadership of either Pistone or his acting replacement, Deputy Chief Stephen Doherty.

Within hours, Pistone resigned, and Doherty released a statement as acting chief acknowledging the vote and the pain many in the department have been feeling about the death of Officer Katelyn Tully.

Man arrested on murder charge 16 years after Worcester woman's disappearance

A Mississippi man has been charged with murder in the 2009 disappearance of a woman in Worcester, Massachusetts, prosecutors said Friday.

Patricia Santos has not been seen or heard from since 2009, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. She was reported missing on May 20.

Ocean Springs, Mississippi resident Albert Carabba, 64, was indicted on a murder count by a grand jury on Sept. 23, prosecutors said, and later taken into custody by police from Ocean Springs and Worcester.

‘The drama continues, and it's very complicated': New developments in Karen Read case

There were several new developments this week in the Karen Read civil case.

The family of John O’Keefe, Read’s Boston police officer boyfriend, is now looking to add a California attorney to their legal team.

A new motion shows lawyers for the family have requested that Bibi Fell be added to their team. Since she is based in California, Fell needs a judge’s approval to practice law in Massachusetts.
