I wanted to send a huge thank you for your support and cooperation today as we implemented our new morning arrival and lunch procedures.
Morning Arrival and Open Gate
I'm incredibly proud of our students! They did a fantastic job entering the building this morning and moving through the new Open Gate weapons detection system. Their patience and positive attitude helped everything run smoothly.
We did notice one common theme, though: many students need to clean out their bags and binders. To help ensure a fast and easy entry each morning, please take a moment to talk with your child about only bringing essential items to school. While we'll be working on organization skills here, your help at home will make a big difference in keeping non-essential items out of their bags.
Lunch Procedures
Our first day with assigned sections for lunch was also a success! Students did well and were able to enjoy time and socialize with their friends within the blocks.
We're already working on a system for students to earn the privilege of having lunch in the commons or courtyard with their friends. This will give them something to look forward to and reward positive behavior as we continue to refine these new routines.
