First, an apology: I have been completely sleeping on Astoria, Elmhurst, and Forest Hills, and for that I am deeply sorry. With that apology in mind (and to honor our possibly future mayor), I decided to devote the week to Queens, because she contains multitudes. I started off in Elmhurst then moved into Ditmars-Steinway, Astoria, Maspeth, and lastly Forest Hills, just to gawk at all the mansions. |

$4,225, 1-bedroom: It’s been a while since I’ve listed a new development or amenities of any kind, so here are like, nine: outdoor pool, grills and outdoor dining areas, state-of-the-art fitness centers, lounges, game room, screening room, recording studio, co-working lounge, children’s playrooms, and more. Are you reconsidering your charming prewar now?
$3,800, 3-bedroom: A totally bright, totally great, totally cheap prewar apartment with some unfortunately over-varnished floors and an underloved kitchen renovation. |

$3,750, 2-bedroom: Charming, nice, and bright with some robust wood floorboards that are in excellent shape. $3,500, 3-bedroom: Deal of the week — three bedrooms at a great price with a beautiful bay window.
$2,500, 1-bedroom: Another day, another prewar. This one accepts pets under 25 pounds! |

$2,450, 1-bedroom: I like the ceramic tile in the kitchen and the track lighting makes me think this functioned as an art gallery? Or maybe the previous tenant just loved track lighting … |

$2,750, 1-bedroom: Apartment in the very cool Pistilli Riverview East, formerly the Eagle Electric Building, which has fantastic, green-painted leaded windows, and views of Astoria Park. |

$3,900, 2-bedroom: Gorgeous prewar in fighting shape.
$2,800, 1-bedroom: Lobby is highlighted here — please line my casket with those large-format tiles. Apartment is also huge.
$3,400, 1-bedroom: Love the building itself — a redbrick prewar that’s stately and stunning. The apartment is not great from a design standpoint, but it’s spacious.
$3,200, 2-bedroom: Total stunner. Made extra obvious by the baby-pink ceramic bathroom tiling.
$8,450, 4-bedroom: Just totally fabulous. Is it my taste? No. Is it nice to see a house that doesn’t adhere to the deadening aesthetics of Scandinavia or mid-century design? Yes! Life’s too short to live so minimally. |

$3,100, 2-bedroom: Do me a favor and look past the horrible lighting, ceiling fans, and wall-to-wall carpets and you’ve got yourself some real potential.
$2,475, 1-bedroom: A stunning prewar showplace — more large-format black-and-white bathroom tiling (yay!), and that particularly rounded curve in the hallway.
$7,000, 4-bedroom: A little murder-y but also really fabulous. I’m a sucker for Tudor style. |
