I started off in Elmhurst then moved into Ditmars-Steinway, Astoria, Maspeth, and lastly Forest Hills, just to gawk at all the mansions. |

$2,800, 1-bedroom: Lobby is highlighted here — please line my casket with those large-format tiles. Apartment is also huge.
$3,400, 1-bedroom: Love the building itself — a redbrick prewar that’s stately and stunning. The apartment is not great from a design standpoint, but it’s spacious.
$3,200, 2-bedroom: Total stunner. Made extra obvious by the baby-pink ceramic bathroom tiling.
$8,450, 4-bedroom: Just totally fabulous. Is it my taste? No. Is it nice to see a house that doesn’t adhere to the deadening aesthetics of Scandinavia or mid-century design? Yes! Life’s too short to live so minimally. |
