Save the date. Donald Trump and Xi Jinping will meet next Thursday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, according to the White House. It will be the first face-to-face meeting for the leaders since Trump returned to power in January. The sign of cooling trade tensions drove stocks higher. News of their confab follows China’s release of a plan to boost self-sufficiency and expand domestic markets amid mounting foreign pressures.

Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao has been pardoned by Trump,  underscoring how the current administration has positioned itself as a friend of the crypto industry and how the president’s family has enriched itself from it. Binance was behind the launch of the family’s stablecoin, which could yield tens of millions of dollars a year.

More money, more bonuses. Wall Street bonuses are set to hit new highs if current trends continue, as big banks reap profits from soaring stocks and a resurgence in dealmaking after a long drought. Compensation expenses increased by almost 10% in the first half of 2025, putting payouts on track to surpass last year’s record.

Deep Dive: Amazon’s New AI Helper

    Source: Amazon

Amazon is tapping AI to help indecisive shoppers. A new feature the e-commerce giant is rolling out—dubbed Help Me Decide—will recommend US users a specific product when they’re feeling overwhelmed with options.

    • Tech and retail companies have been experimenting with ways to integrate AI into the shopping experience. Back in April, OpenAI started letting users shop for products within ChatGPT.
    • Walmart teamed up with OpenAI to enable shoppers to browse and purchase its products on ChatGPT earlier this month.
    • But it turns out the AI agent isn’t that great of a personal shopper—at least not yet, according to Bloomberg Opinion’s Dave Lee. In time, though, ChatGPT-assisted shopping will only become more personalized, with a deeper knowledge of your tastes, existing wardrobe, measurements … and who knows what else.
