OpenAI acquisition: The artificial intelligence company acquired Software Applications, a startup founded by former Apple employees that is building an AI-powered interface of Mac desktops. 

Xbox cuts: Microsoft is asking its Xbox gaming division to produce profit margins well above the industry average, spurring the unit to cancel projects, raise prices and cut jobs.

Chipmaker plans: Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies is considering an initial public offering that may value the company at more than $40 billion, making it one of the biggest listings in mainland China in years.

Crusoe, a partner of OpenAI in its effort to build massive data centers for AI work, raised $1.38 billion in a round that values the company at more than $10 billion. Crusoe is operating OpenAI and Oracle’s first Stargate project in West Texas and has announced a project with Blackstone-backed Tallgrass to develop a 1.8 gigawatt AI data center campus in southeast Wyoming.
