Philadelphia Rock Radio Icon Pierre Robert Dies at 70
Robert, pronounced “roh-BAYR,” joined WMMR(FM) in 1981. Host Brett Porche said on-air Wednesday that Robert embodied “peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll,” more synonymous with the genre than perhaps any other on-air host in the city’s history. Police found Robert at his home following a welfare check after he did not show up for his on-air shift.

KYW(AM) Newsradio Anchor Harry Donahue Dies at 77
Wednesday was a really tough day for the radio scene in the city of Brotherly Love. Donahue died after a bout with cancer. He joined KYW as a freelance reporter in 1974 and became an anchor in 1979, beginning a 35-year run.

Longtime WGN(AM) News Anchor Steve Bertrand to Retire
Steve Bertrand
Bertrand’s retirement is effective Nov. 13, following his 40th anniversary at the Chicago talk station, which he celebrated in June. During his time at WGN, he hosted several shows and anchored news “on nearly every part of the clock."

Nebraska Radio Host Gary Sadlemyer Announces Retirement
The Omaha talk radio personality will retire from iHeartMedia’s news/talk 1110 KFAB(AM) in December. For more than three decades, Sadlemyer anchored the “KFAB Morning News.”
