The fastest way to get where you want to go is slowly.
This may be contrary to most productivity advice you’ve heard. But it’s critical to directing a life of meaning and purpose.
The paradox is we move with more clarity and speed when we slow down to reflect and prepare.
Monks teach us that productivity isn’t about getting more stuff done. It’s about doing what matters most, and having the courage to say no to the countless distractions that could fill our time.
November is a time of year to reflect, give thanks, reconnect with loved ones, and begin to envision who you will become in the year ahead. It’s also the time of year, just before the holiday hustle and bustle where we tend to start speeding WAY up.
Resist this temptation at all costs.
Instead use this time to pause, clarify what matters most right now on your journey of becoming.
The time you invest now in setting a vision for your future will save you countless hours on wasted distractions and lesser goods in the coming year.
