Today, on the International World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, Arlington honors the lives lost and those seriously injured from traffic collisions. As we reflect on the past decade, we remember the 31 lives lost resulting from 29 fatal traffic collisions on Arlington roads, which have profoundly impacted the lives of many of our friends, neighbors, and fellow residents.
This occasion brings together communities across the globe to advocate for sound road safety policies that stop and prevent traffic injuries and deaths. The County’s Vision Zero program is dedicated to implementing evidence-based safety policies and interventions to protect lives. Together, with the support of our community, we will create a safer Arlington for all residents and visitors.
