Thank you to all of our Lemon Road Veterans who were able to attend our breakfast this week! It was a pleasure to meet many of our community members who have supported our nation.
Our Behavior Solutions Leadership Team began recognizing students that demonstrated their ROAR (respectful, outstanding, attentive, and responsible). One student from each class was identified as showing consistent respect in September and October. We are now looking for students that represent outstanding behaviors over the next few months. Congratulations to everyone recognized!
This week also kicked off one of our favorite PE units of the year - gymnastics! Lions in kindergarten - sixth grade look forward to this unit every year.
Victor O'Neill will return Friday, November 21 for any student or staff member who missed the 1st date or would like a retake! Photos will begin around 9:30 AM and last through lunch. Any parent may request a retake. Please fill out this form so we ensure your child's photo is taken! If you received a package you are unhappy with, send it back with your child this week. Parents can preorder photos from their retake from Victor O'Neill by completing this link.
The Lemon Road ES Family Life Education (FLE) Parent Preview Night will be also be available during Family Night in the art room (6:30 - 7:00 PM) or through Google Meet (7:00 - 7:30). Click here for the Google Meet link. Questions about FLE can be directed to Angela Ulsh, Harry Van Trees, or your child's classroom teacher.
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. We will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE. Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
PTA Meeting: Thank you to everyone who joined us at our PTA meeting on Wednesday. Our November meeting is always a popular and well attended event. If you were unable to attend and would like a copy of the AAP slides, please let us know. You can also reach out to Mrs. Argue directly at targue@fcps.edu.
Family Night: We are excited about Family Night on Thursday, November 20 from 5:30-7:00. The PTA will have cider and donuts available for FREE (while supplies last) in the cafeteria. We are also providing a catered dinner for staff members ahead of time, but we'd appreciate dessert donations. You can sign-up to donate a dessert here: Dessert Donations.
Community Service Event: Once again, the PTA is partnering with Kilmer Food Pantry and Share of McLean for our winter community service event. Donations can be dropped off in the Minion box in the front lobby.
