Principal's Message 

Dear Langley Families,

I hope all our veterans and their families had a wonderful Veterans Day. Additionally, I want to thank all our military-connected families who attended our Veterans’ Day Celebration on Friday morning.

As we enter the winter weather season, I ask that our student drivers and families using our Kiss and Ride consider pushing back departure times by 5-10 minutes to account for possible delays. We’ve noticed more students arriving after our 8:10 start time. I appreciate everyone's effort to prioritize student safety when entering and leaving campus.

I also encourage all families to begin using Parent Vue to report full-day absences. It is a secure, reliable, and efficient way to manage your students' attendance. Instructions are included below.

Attendance Update 

We highly encourage all our families to begin using this method for full-day absences.  Reports submitted through Parent VUE are securely sent to the attendance office and do not require a follow-up email or call.

How to Report an Absence Through ParentVUE

Partial-Day Absences (Late Arrival or Early Dismissal): For late arrivals, early dismissals, or to update a previously submitted attendance report, please email the Attendance Office LangleyHSAttendance@fcps.edu

Checking Out a Student Without a Note or a Sent Email to the Attendance Office: If your student does not have a written note, or the parent has not sent an email to the Attendance Office

• A parent or guardian must come into the building and sign them out at the Attendance Office.
• Provide a photo ID for verification.
• Please allow up to 30 minutes for the checkout process if it is not prearranged.

Wellness Screening

Mental health problems can develop in adolescence which is full of emotions for teens. Some of these emotions are actually mental illnesses. Depression is among the most common mental illnesses. Depression is treatable; however, it is a leading risk factor for suicide. To proactively address mental illness, Langley High School is providing a mental wellness screening and suicide prevention training as part of the SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program.  Parents were emailed on Friday, October 10th with additional information regarding this program.

Renaissance Feaste The Langley Choir is excited to present our annual Renaissance Feaste. Come join us for a huge dinner theater experience! The event is Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 pm. LOST AND FOUND Missing a jacket, sweatshirt, lunchbox and/or water bottle? It may be in Langley’s very large lost & found collection. Please stop by the lost and found box located in the cafeteria no later than December 19th.     Items in lost and found will be donated after December 19th.

FCPS has a new mobile app!! The app provides a custom, district-branded platform that keeps families connected and informed right from their smartphones. It consolidates essential content such as news, live updates, calendars, district and school-specific notices, cafeteria menus, and more, all in one place. Users can access updates and content without having to sign in, making it easy for everyone to stay informed. Additionally, schools can publish content and push notifications simultaneously to the app and to social media platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram, ensuring all channels remain aligned. No-Cost Mental Health Teletherapy for All High School Students

FCPS has partnered with Hazel Health to help eliminate barriers to quality mental health care services for all high school students, at no cost to families. Therapy sessions with Hazel Health are a safe space and are private and confidential.
