Hi ala,
I attended a party to celebrate the Comcast RISE winners in Boston. (Earlier this year we partnered with Comcast to promote the grants. We were thrilled to see many IW members apply and we were even more thrilled to hear about winners from our community.)
Twice during the program we heard about “real live humans”. Ashley Stolba, the Massachusetts Undersecretary of Economic Foundations, said there's “a human in our office dedicated to supporting small businesses.”
Then Regan Yeldell, Executive Director, Comcast Program Strategy, told the audience, “Real live humans read the applications.”
Evidently, we’ve become so complacent to the bots in our midst that we need to call out the real live humans. So…
Real live humans (albeit tech-assisted ones) will gather on Zoom today…twice…for Speaker Friend Friday, Pink Friday edition. The Pink Friday organization wants you to do your holiday shopping BEFORE Black Friday. Let the big box stores get your leftover money, after you have supported small businesses owned by real live humans.
Real live humans care about you getting to speak at conferences and events. Of course, the team at Innovation Women care but I want to shoutout the team at Blended Pledge, one of our latest partners. They financially support underrepresented speakers as they travel for speaking engagements. Check it out! (Details on our website!)
And, you are a real live human. Listening to someone speaking is how we connect. It's how we judge credibility. It's how we make decisions. Remember, AI is a tool. Don't outsource your humanity and your speaking (speeches, presentations, and abstracts) to a tool.
Bobbie and the entire Innovation Women team
