lakjsd, I know you’ve got a million tabs open right now, with all your goodies stuffed in your online shopping carts.
And to be fair, that’s way better than back in the day when you could get trampled by deal-crazed consumers while you try to snag a half-price television.
But I’m afraid it’s my duty as a concerned personal finance expert to warn you about a particularly insidious retailer lie.
It’s called the Black Friday Discount Do-si-do.
(Okay, it’s not, but this is my newsletter so that’s what I’m calling it.)
Basically it’s what happens when retailers spend most of October artificially inflating their prices so that they can offer a “big” discount that’s not actually any more than what they usually offer.
Sometimes, they don’t even offer a discount at all, they just slap the words “Black Friday” over the existing price and expect you to fall for it.
naughty, naughty Target...
And I don’t like it!
So I’m gonna help you out.
If you’re buying something on Amazon today (that fits into your 30% wants budget, of course), you can use this link to make sure you’re actually getting a good discount.
There are other price trackers out there too, so you can make sure the dishwasher you’re looking at is really on sale or if there’s a better deal out there.
Because remember, having a budget isn’t about never splurging or spending money.
It’s about being in control, and planning for those things.
Which brings me to my own Black Friday Blowout.
In case you missed my last few emails, we’re running a site-wide sale on EVERYTHING.
Fall blowout, but you get the gist

So if you’re ready to make an investment in yourself, and pick up something that improves your life instead of a new gadget you’ll forget about by New Year’s…
