Another Conservative member of Parliament is crossing the floor to the Liberals.
Markham-Unionville MP Michael Ma issued a statement tonight saying he is joining Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberals in the government caucus.
He is the second Conservative to cross in recent weeks. With him, the Liberals will have 171 seats in the House of Commons, putting them one short of a majority.
Mr. Ma was elected for the first time in April and said in his statement that he entered the public service to focus on solutions, not division.
He added that Mr. Carney is offering a steady, practical approach.
