The project team from for the Long Bridge Drive Multimodal Connection on Long Bridge Drive near Crystal City is back with an update on the final concept design.
Public engagement for this project occurred in two phases, before and after the development of a concept design for the corridor. The final concept for the project is on the project page, with a short video explaining how we used your input to develop the concept and how it achieves the project's goals.

This month, crews will be present on the Mount Vernon Trail near the 14th Street Bridge to remove shrubs and trees ahead of construction for the Long Bridge Project by the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA).
Construction activities will require brief, intermittent stoppages (up to 5-minutes) on the Mt. Vernon Trail as equipment and construction materials cross. Flaggers will be present at all times to ensure safety of all trail users.
This work is anticipated to be completed by early January, before proceeding into preparing the site for construction.

Rail service at Crystal City Metro station will close for 10 weekends between February and June 2026 in service of Crystal City East Entrance construction. Service will resume during the week.
Additional rail work by WMATA will also necessitate closures at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro station.
Shuttles will serve in place of trains between Pentagon City and Potomac Yard during rail closures.
