NYE celebration

New Year's Eve Celebration

Ring in 2026 at our annual celebration on Wed., Dec. 31, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. sponsored by the Senior Adult Council, the Alliance for Arlington Senior Programs and the Office of 55+ Programs. Enjoy a catered lunch from McNamara’s Pub and Restaurant, plus music, dancing, a photo booth and a champagne toast. Prizes will be awarded for the best New Year’s attire. Family Art Lab: DIY Tote Bags

Start the year by designing your own tote bag at our next Family Art Lab at Arlington Mill Community Center on Sat., Jan. 3 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Each person attending, including adults, must register, and all children must be supervised by a participating adult. Registration is open through Dec. 31. Cost: $9. Learn more!

Eco-Friendly Bird Feeders

Winter is a tricky time for our feathered friends because food is scarce. Kids ages 5 to 9 can join us on Sat., Jan. 3 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Fairlington Community Center to learn about local winter birds and make their own bird feeders from eco-friendly materials. Cost: $7. Sign up here!


Park Corps

Park Corps: Apply Today!

Love the outdoors? Park Corps is a paid program for ages 16-18 that offers hands-on work with Arlington natural resource professionals. Participants build job skills, gain experience and make connections while working outside. Applications are accepted until Mon., Jan. 12! Apply now!

Arlington Mill Open for Teen Drop-In Hours Over Winter Break

Winter break has officially started Arlington Mill Community Center is offering teen drop-in hours from 1-7p.m. on the following dates: Dec. 23, 29, 30 and Jan. 2.

Teens can hang out with friends, take part in activities, and enjoy a welcoming space while school is out. Learn more here.

Join Us for the MLK Tribute 

The annual tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place on Sun., Jan. 18, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. This year’s theme is Dreams, Faith and Justice in action, and will feature spoken word, music and movement to inspire the community as we embrace Rev. Dr. King’s legacy of social justice, unity and equality. Learn more RSVP today.

Register for the Stay and Play Program Winter Session 

Join us for 90-minutes of Stay and Play fun this Winter. Our Parks and Recreation staff will provide a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for toddlers ages 12-36 months to explore and make new friends. Staff may provide organized activities such as story times, crafts, sensory and movement experiences. Families and caregivers will stay during the program to supervise their children and create bonds with other families in the community. Learn more and sign up here.

Parks & Recreation classes, camps, fitness memberships, preschools, programs and more are at a price you can afford! Our fee reduction program helps Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day! Access for All. Whether you have a short-term set back or something longer term, we're here to help.

 

Additionally, all Parks & Recreation programs, classes and camps can put modifications in place to promote an enjoyable and successful program experience for participants of all abilities. Advance notice is welcome. Call 703-228-4740 or email trinfo@arlingtonva.us.

 

Stop by our office at Lubber Run Community Center on select Saturdays to get help with registration, create an account, get login information, renew or apply for fee reductions, drop off registration forms, set up payment plans and more. The DPR Administrative Services Office at Lubber Run Community Center also has extended after hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 –7 p.m. for in-person assistance.
