Much of the time our goals are driven by fear. We fear a loss of financial security. We fear failing. We fear being viewed as lacking—be it at work, in friendship, in parenting, at school, in marriage, etc… We don’t always realize it but often we pursue things because we think they will earn us a place in this world. Fear is a powerful motivator for getting things done. But it is rarely accompanied by a strong sense of peace and purpose.

And that is the force of LOVE—the impulse in us that, in the face of fear, beckons us on toward our greater good. When we lead from a source of love, we tend to take the right risks, grow as human beings, and make decisions that increase the good in our lives and the lives of those around us. You may lose some friends and you may get uncomfortable, but when you choose to operate from a source of love, you become more true to yourself, to your deeper purpose.

Fear makes us hold back. Love helps us lean in and lead from deep center. We become more present, more awake, and more alive than we thought possible. That’s what love does. Love gets us out of our head and out of our own way.

Love leads to a fuller life.

Pay attention to what’s driving you.
