Drake Maye looking for 1st playoff win as Patriots host Chargers tonight

In a year’s time, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has gone from the rookie starter on a losing team to an MVP candidate and the face of a playoff squad.

That rapid rise hasn’t altered the 23-year-old’s mindset as he prepares to lead New England into its first playoff game since the 2021 season. The Patriots (14-3) host the Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) on Sunday night.

Maye insists his focus is on following the same process that helped him get this far.

Lingering showers this morning, chance for snow squalls tonight

There’s a few lingering showers this morning near the Cape and Islands, much of Southern New England dries out through the day with clouds.

Noticeably cooler air arrives Sunday night into Monday as colder air rushes in. The potential for a brief hit-or-miss snow squall is possible Sunday night.

This followed by strong west-northwest winds that could gust up to 40 mph into early Monday, making it feel sharply colder into Monday morning. Actual temperatures falling Monday with highs in the upper 30s, right where we should be for this time of year.

Man falls during Bruins game at TD Garden; another person arrested for altercation

A man was injured in a fight and fall at TD garden on Saturday, and another person was arrested following an investigation.

Boston police say officers assigned to detail for the Bruins game responded around 3:07 p.m. for a report of a male who had fallen in the balcony level of the arena.

Boston EMS responded to the scene, and the victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

Large fire breaks out at Bourne woodworking business, police say

Firefighters were battling a blaze at a Cape Cod woodworking business Saturday night.

Bourne police said there was a structure fire at ML Custom Woodworking, located at 150 State Road.

State Road was closed from Meetinghouse Lane to the intersection with Old Plymouth Road, according to police, who added that all traffic was being diverted to Old Plymouth Road.

Red Sox lose Bregman after star 3B agrees to huge deal with Cubs: Report

Alex Bregman won’t be running it back with Boston after all.

The All-Star third baseman has agreed to a five-year, $175 million contract with the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

In November, Bregman opted out of the final two seasons of the three-year, $120 million deal he signed with the Red Sox last winter.
