We’ve revised our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to make them easier to understand. Don’t worry — these changes will have no technical impact on your use of Nord’s services. The changes will take effect on February 16, 2026.

What’s changing?

Terms of Service:

  • Improved readability. We simplified the Terms of Service and added more comprehensive structure and explanations to make them easier to navigate and understand.
  • Clearer Subscription Terms. We introduced more definitions and clarifications for key concepts related to service subscriptions and the auto-renewal process, making them even more readable.
  • More detailed rules for cancellation and refunds. We described your cancellation options and eligibility for refunds across different purchase channels in more detail.

Privacy Policy:

  • Improved readability. We simplified the Privacy Policy and added more comprehensive structure and explanations to make it easier to navigate and understand.
  • Continued commitment to privacy. We reaffirm our strict no-logs policy for NordVPN: we do not track your online activity. To make this clearer, we added explanations for some situations in which certain types of personal data are not processed.
  • Purpose-based processing descriptions. Personal data processing is now sorted by purpose (like account creation, payments handling, customer support, service or website functionality) rather than by data category to make it easier to find sections relevant to you.
  • More details on the legal basis for data processing. The updated Privacy Policy includes simple explanations of the legal basis for each specific data processing purpose.
  • Transparency about service providers and tools. We updated the main categories of our service providers and clarified how we use AI tools to deliver faster support for general customer inquiries.
  • Enhanced transparency around marketing. We added more information about marketing preferences and how you can manage them across different channels.

Why did we make these changes?

We made these changes to make sure that our terms reflect our current practices, stay in line with the evolving regulations, and provide greater transparency on how we provide our services and process personal data.

Do you need to do anything?

No action is required. These changes will take effect on February 16, 2026. Until then, if you're not happy with them, you may end your relationship with us by deleting your Nord account and/or ceasing to use our websites. Otherwise, we'll assume that you have accepted the changes.
