What's going on today?

  • The 8th Circuit paused a lower court's order that had restrained federal immigration agents' use of force against peaceful protesters.
  • Prince Harry held back tears in the witness box as he told London's High Court that the Daily Mail had made his wife Meghan's life "an absolute misery" as he gave evidence against the paper's publisher in a privacy lawsuit.
  • Eightfold AI, an AI hiring platform used by Microsoft, PayPal and many other Fortune 500 companies, is being sued for allegedly compiling reports used to screen job applicants without their knowledge.

Changes are coming! The Daily Docket and The Afternoon Docket will become one newsletter beginning January 26. The DD will continue to go out every morning, and the AD will go out on Thursday afternoons. If you have any feedback on the changes, feel free to email me.
