This week the 2026 THE World University Rankings by Subject have been released. This is a great resource for current and prospective students looking to see which universities excel in their chosen subject.
These rankings cover 11 subject areas, including engineering, law, psychology and medicine. Many of the expected institutions, such as Oxford and Harvard, rank highly across several subjects – but Asian universities including Peking University and the National University of Singapore are steadily improving.
We’ve also created tables for the top universities for each subject in the UK, US, Australia and Canada, some of which you can find below.
